The upgraded Variation feature in Storyboarder.ai lets you refine, tweak, or completely transform your shots — without starting from scratch. It’s the perfect tool for keeping characters, locations, and storylines consistent while exploring countless creative directions.

💡 All of these options are available when you click the “VARIATION” button below any image in your project.

1️⃣ What’s the best way to make small changes to an existing shot?

Use the Variation/Modify feature to duplicate your shot and adjust only the action.
Small changes can shift the mood while preserving consistency.

Prompt examples:

  • “The man looks toward her girlfriend with a warm smile”

  • “They lean in for a gentle kiss”

  • “He bursts into laughter, head slightly tilted back”

2️⃣ Can I zoom in or out without losing the scene’s style?

Yes! You can control shot size to match the mood while keeping your visual foundation intact.

Prompt examples:

  • “Extreme close-up on her eyes”

  • “Zoom-out to a wide establishing shot showing the entire room”

  • “Zoom-out to an extreme wide shot from a distance”

3️⃣ How do I change camera angles for more variety?

Switch perspectives to add drama, clarity, or visual interest — all without breaking scene consistency.

Prompt examples:

  • “Over-the-shoulder shot from behind the main characters”

  • “Top-down view of the scene”

  • “Aerial drone shot, looking straight down”

4️⃣ Can I change colors of clothes, hair, or objects?

Absolutely. Adjust colors to match tone, branding, or creative vision.

Prompt examples:

  • “Change her dress color to deep emerald green”

  • “Turn his hair platinum blonde”

  • “Make the coffee mug bright red with a glossy finish”

5️⃣ How do I add new items, characters, or animals?

Bring in new elements to expand storytelling possibilities.

Prompt examples:

  • “Add a golden retriever sitting next to the character”

  • “Place a vintage camera on the table”

  • “Introduce a child holding a balloon in the background”

6️⃣ Can I remove things I don’t want in the shot?

Yes. You can delete unwanted characters, objects, or text to clean up your frame.

Prompt examples:

  • “Remove the crowd in the background”

  • “Erase the text on the wall”

  • “Remove the male character, leave only the female character”

7️⃣ How can I change the art style without losing the composition?

You can transform the style while keeping framing and positioning.

Prompt examples:

  • “In the style of a 1970s film poster”

  • “Convert to black-and-white noir style with dramatic shadows”

  • “Rendered in watercolor painting style”

8️⃣ Can I blend additional uploaded images into my scene?

Yes — you can merge extra visuals for branding or story purposes, including products, logos, or graphics.

Prompt examples:

  • “Add this product, which she is holding in her hand”

  • “Place our company logo on the shirt”

  • “Integrate a neon sign as a title overlay”

9️⃣ How do I replace characters with my own images?

Upload character images and swap them into the shot for perfectly consistent characters.

Prompt examples:

  • “Replace the man with this actor’s headshot”

  • Two-step method: First: “Remove the female character” — then: “Add a young boy holding a skateboard standing next to him”

  • “Replace both characters with my uploaded images; they walk together hand in hand”

🔟 Is it possible to start completely fresh but still use Variation?

Yes. Remove the original foundation image, upload your own location, characters, or props, and use them as your new creative base.

Prompt examples:

  • “Two characters are sitting at a table discussing things” (with uploaded location + characters)

  • “She is holding the product into the camera, while the volcano erupts in the background”

  • “A fantasy forest at moonshine with the characters standing in the center and fighting”
