Understanding The Scene Breakdown

Turning a Story Idea into a Scene Breakdown

In this workflow, Storyboarder.ai helps you transform a simple story idea into a structured scene breakdown before generating your storyboard.

This step ensures your story has a clear structure and allows you to refine the narrative before visuals are created.

Step 1 — Start a New Storyboard

From the dashboard, click “New Storyboard” to begin creating a new project.

Step 2 — Enter Your Story Idea

Describe your idea in your own words.

Example:

“A cat and a dog fighting over a tennis ball in a living room.”

The AI will use this description to generate a structured scene breakdown.

Step 3 — Review the Scene Breakdown

Storyboarder.ai automatically divides your story into scenes.

Each scene contains:
• narrative description
• actions
• character interactions

This helps structure the story before visualizing it.

Step 4 — Edit and Refine Scenes

You can freely modify the generated scenes.

Available options include:

• editing scene text
• adding new scenes
• deleting scenes
• reordering scenes

This allows you to adjust pacing and story flow.

Step 5 — Prepare for Storyboard Generation

Once the scenes match your vision, click:

“Bring Your Story to Life”

Storyboarder.ai will then convert your structured scenes into cinematic storyboard frames.

Why This Step Matters

A well-structured scene breakdown helps:

• clarify story flow
• improve shot generation
• ensure stronger visual storytelling

Instead of generating random images, the AI now understands how your story unfolds scene by scene.
