What is the Content Editor?
The Content Editor is an alternative way to create AI-powered content in Storyboarder.ai. It allows you to generate individual images, videos, visual designs, characters, objects, and locations without creating a story or screenplay first.
You can use it as a creative playground for producing standalone content or connect your creations to a storyboard later.
What can I create in the Content Editor?
You can create:
Images
Videos
Visual designs
Characters
Objects
Locations
Characters, objects, and locations are saved as reusable assets that can be included in future generations.
How do I create a character in the Content Editor?
Select Character, enter a short description, choose your preferred art style, and click Generate.
The generated character will be added to your content library and can be referenced when creating images, videos, or visual designs.
Can I make changes to a generated character or asset in the Content Editor?
Yes. Open the generated content and click Iterate.
Describe the changes you would like to make, then generate a new version. This allows you to refine details while keeping the original concept as your starting point.
Can I upload a reference image for an object?
Yes. When creating an object, you can upload a reference image of the product or item you want to use.
Select Object, add a short description, upload the reference image, choose an art style, and click Generate. The Content Editor will use the uploaded image as a visual reference.
What is the Brand Kit?
The Brand Kit allows you to define your brand identity directly inside the Content Editor.
You can add:
Your logo
Brand colors
A description of your brand identity
Additional visual style instructions
Once your Brand Kit has been saved, you can activate it during content generation.
How do I use my Brand Kit in a generation?
Create or open a generation, select the relevant Brand Kit, and activate it before clicking Generate.
Your logo, brand colors, and visual style information will then be considered during the generation process. Brand instructions are AI-generated and may occasionally require further iteration.
How do I include existing assets in an image?
Enter the names of your saved characters, objects, or locations directly in the prompt.
The Content Editor automatically recognizes the asset names and connects them to the corresponding assets in your library. Choose your preferred aspect ratio and click Generate to create an image containing the selected elements.
Can I generate a video without a starting image inside the Content Editor?
Yes. Videos can be generated directly from a text description without using an image as the first frame. But that's only possible inside the Content Editor.
Select Video, describe the storyline or action, and choose one of the available video modes. You can then configure the duration, art style, aspect ratio, and optional Brand Kit information.
Can I add dialogue or audio to a video?
Yes. Depending on the selected video mode, you can add written dialogue or upload an audio file.
The audio can be used for speech, music, or sound effects. Available options and maximum durations may depend on the selected video model.
What are Visual Designs?
Visual Designs are assets that focus more heavily on graphics, layouts, diagrams, marketing materials, or branded communication.
Select Visual Design, describe what you need, and mention any existing characters or objects you want to include. You can also apply your Brand Kit to create designs using your logo, colors, assets, and visual identity.
How do locations work in the Content Editor?
Locations are reusable environments that can be referenced in future image generations.
Create a location and open it in the Location Editor. From there, you can generate additional camera angles and perspectives of the same space.
How do I choose a default image for a location?
Select the location image or perspective you prefer.
The location toggle will automatically switch to Based on Image Reference. The selected image will then be used as the primary visual reference whenever that location appears in a future generation.
This helps maintain a more consistent environment across multiple images.
Can I create a character from a photo of myself in the Content Editor?
Yes. Create a new character, upload your photo as a reference, choose an art style, and click Generate.
The Content Editor will create a stylized character based on your uploaded image. You can then use that character in future content.
Can I use an uploaded photo without changing it?
Yes. Disable the generation toggle when uploading the image.
The original image will then be added to your content library and used directly without generating a new version.
How do I select multiple pieces of content in the Content Editor?
Click Select at the top of the Content Editor and choose the images, videos, or assets you want to work with.
A menu will appear at the bottom of the screen with several options for transferring the selected content into a storyboard project.
Can I add selected content in the Content Editor to an existing storyboard?
Yes. Select your assets, images and video, choose Add to Storyboard and select one of your current projects.
The selected images and videos will be added to the end of that storyboard.
And selected assets like characters, objects and locations will be added to the corresponding editor of your storyboard project.
Can Storyboarder.ai create a new story from my selected content in the Content Editor?
Yes. Choose the option to create a new storyboard from your selected content from the menu that will appear at the bottom of the screen.
You can optionally provide additional story information and choose a genre.
Storyboarder.ai will generate a story based on the selected images, videos, and assets.
You can review and edit the generated story before the storyboard is created.
Can I create a blank storyboard or animatic from my content in the Content Editor?
Yes. Select your images and videos, then choose Create Animatic from the menu that will appear at the bottom of the screen.
The selected content will be transferred directly into a new blank storyboard in its current order. No additional story or screenplay will be generated.
This is useful when you already know the sequence of your content and simply want to arrange it as a storyboard or animatic.
